Blank slates.
Maki| July 21, 2008 9:52 pmSo it was hard enough committing to a first ‘Yay, page is launched!’ post. But now I actually have to come up with a first actual entry? Begin panic. After all, the first post is serious business. It has to be epic! It has to be something that sets the stage for the entire blog. It has to capture the viewer’s attention, the hook if you will.
Well, I have this same dilemma every time I start a new sketchbook. I very well can’t have a crummy first page! I’m sure you other artists out there have the same problem. The most common solution to this that I hear is to leave the first page blank. Brilliant! Sure enough I always leave the first page blank save for my current business card glued to it as a way for the sketchbook to get back to me if I lose it.
But I don’t think a blank blog post will fly here (Unless it was filled with invisible text), so I give you some examples of past ‘first sketchbook pages’. Not counting the business card page that is…
I think that’s a good first post.
